Hello Friends!
I hope all of you had a nice Thanksgiving!
Today I am going to talk about what college football is really all about.
This is Rivalry Week!
With most team’s seasons coming to an end, for some it has been a great year and for others, this is just the end of their season.
For the ones who are having tough years, this weekend’s game against their rival will make their year.
Now to the rivalries!
Series Record: 60-40-6 Ole Miss
2009: 41-27 Miss St.
Alright People! Yesterday Miss St, not going to a bowl game, got their biggest win of the year in the annual Egg Bowl game. Miss St exacted revenge on Ole Miss from last years 45-0 drumming they took from the Rebels, by giving Dan Mullins his first egg bowl victory, making all right in Starkville, Mississippi.
Series Record: 65-38-4 Clemson
2009: 34-17 South Carolina
Now Friends, yesterday’s game was truly a rivalry game! You had Clemson getting ready for the ACC championship game next week and SC trying to impress the bowl reps in hopes of a better bowl. These two faced off in the Palmetto Battle! The game started out with CJ Spiller silencing a packed house at Williams-Bryce stadium with an 88yd kick off return for a TD. And the sad thing about it ….
That was all Clemson had to cheer about for the rest of the game! SC dominated the entire game from that point on!
Series Record: 60-39-5 Georgia
2009: 30-24 Georgia
Last night Mark Richt took his Bulldogs to Atlanta to face Tech in their annual battle, and to the surprise of the people in attendance, the Dawgs put on a clinic of how to dominate both sides of the lines of scrimmage and got out of Atlanta with a 30-24 win.
Series Record: 40-33-1 Bama
2009: 26-21 Bama
On the day after Thanksgiving, Alabama & Auburn met up in the annual Iron Bowl.
For the most part, Auburn out-played Alabama all day long but Bama managed to muster up enough pride to overcome Auburn’s performance and come away with an Iron Bowl win!
Series Record: 34-19-2 LSU
2009: 36-33OT LSU
LSU and Arkansas met Saturday night in Baton Rouge! This game did not disappoint the people in attendance! These rivals went into OT in true nail-biting fashion! Final Score 36-33.
Series Record: 33-19-2 Florida
2009: 37-10 Florida
Bobby Bowden took his beleaguered Seminoles into the swamp to face the Gators in the annual Sunshine Shootout!
It wasn’t pretty!
But the most sickening thing about the whole game was not the outcome but Florida saying goodbye to their do-it-all, do-it-better, Superman Tim Tebow, who makes me sick.
Enough said!
Final Score 37-10
In closing, ok friends by now I guess you can tell I am not a Florida fan, I am an Alabama fan and I just hope and pray that Alabama kicks Florida’s @ss next Saturday!!!
See ya next week!
ROLL TIDE!
